This weekend, couples around the world will be celebrating Valentine’s Day. And while romantic love is certainly something worth honoring, to me, the day is more about celebrating the love I feel for myself and other I care deeply for. So why not use it as an excuse to care for and nurture ? Treat yourself to three green for glowing skin and shiny hair. A very happy Valentine’s Day to YOU!

Lavender & Vanilla Body Scrub

This scrub will leave your skin feeling so soft and moisturized that you may not even have to moisturize with lotion or oil after bathing when you use this regularly. Feel free to mix and match the essential oils depending on your mood and skincare needs.

Ingredients

Organic lavender essential oil

Organic vanilla essential oil

1 tbsp coconut oil

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup dried lavender buds

Preparation

Crush dried lavender buds with a mortar and pestle if you have one. Mix the crushed up buds into brown sugar and add to five drops each of the lavender and vanilla essential oils. Mix thoroughly. Then stir in coconut oil until the whole mix is blended. Scrub away! (You can substitute organic fine white sugar if you prefer lighter exfoliation.) If you have leftovers, store in an airtight glass jar and stir well before applying as the ingredients might separate.

Lemon & Honey Facial Treatment

Lemons are high in vitamin C and antioxidants, and their natural citric acids are wonderful as an all-natural exfoliant, blackhead remover, blemish fighter and skin brightener. Raw honey is anti-bacterial and can prevent acne while it moisturizes.

Ingredients

1/2 fresh lemon

1 tsp raw honey

Preparation

Cut the lemon in half and remove seeds. Spread the raw honey directly onto the lemon and then gently rub it on your clean face in small circular motions. Let the mixture sit on your skin for up to three minutes, then rinse with warm water. Add one tsp of raw honey directly on the

Honey, Egg & Olive Oil Hair Mask

I love this hair mask because it’s simple and leaves hair feeling smooth, healthy, conditioned and renewed. Bonus? Chances are you already have all these ingredients in your kitchen.

Ingredients

2 eggs

1 tbs. honey

2 tbs. extra virgin olive oil

Preparation

Whip two whole eggs with two tablespoons of olive oil. Add in the 1 Tbs. of honey and mix until creamy. Smooth through your hair from roots to the ends of your hair until completely saturated. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave this mask on for up to one hour. Completely rinse with warm water until hair is no longer sticky. Use conditioner if necessary.
